Multiplatform Website Development for the Red Cross RNM
Industry
About the Client
The Red Cross of North Macedonia is the central humanitarian coordination body in the country. Their digital infrastructure supports donation processing, crisis communications, regional branch updates, and integration with public health and emergency response systems. As a national NGO with distributed operations, the organization requires a robust, scalable web platform to manage content delivery, real-time updates, and outreach across multiple user segments.
Challenge
The Red Cross needed a modern web platform with robust multilingual support, clear content hierarchy, and simplified content management for regional and national updates. The legacy site was rigid, slow, and hard to maintain — especially during high-traffic campaigns or emergency outreach.Key technical goals included optimizing mobile responsiveness, improving accessibility standards, enabling secure donation processing, and streamlining editorial workflows. The platform also had to scale without performance tradeoffs and support quick deployment of time-sensitive content.
Project Summary
Fusion Forge collaborated with the Red Cross of North Macedonia to deliver a robust, multi-language web platform optimized for accessibility, maintainability, and performance. The frontend, built with Next.js and React.js, ensures fast load times, responsive layouts, and full accessibility compliance across devices and network conditions. On the backend, a custom-configured WordPress instance powered by PHP enables the Red Cross team to manage content independently — streamlining updates for news, campaigns, and emergency communications. The UI, designed in Figma, aligns with Red Cross branding while emphasizing clarity and usability.Key features include a structured content system for news and events, donation and volunteer call-to-actions, dynamic landing pages, and modular components for future campaigns. SEO best practices and server-side rendering were implemented to maximize visibility and stability under load.
Results
The new platform made it much easier for the Red Cross to manage and share information with the public, volunteers, and partners. The team can now update content quickly, post urgent news right away, and keep things consistent across different languages and regions. The website also loads faster, works well on all devices, and stays reliable even in areas with slower internet. Its flexible setup makes it easy to add new features or launch future campaigns without major changes — giving the Red Cross a strong digital base to support its work across the country.
